Bill Gates, Microsoft cofounder
Bill Gates, Microsoft cofounder and former richest person in the world denied wrongdoing in an interview. It’s the first time the tech billionaire has openly talked about his relationship with Epstein.
In the Epstein emails released on Jan. 30, 2026 by the U.S. Department of Justice showed an email Epstein had written to himself in which he claimed Gates had requested to “surreptitiously” give medicine to Gates’ then-wife Melinda after Gates allegedly contracted STIs.
Gates’ former wife Melinda French struck a different note, while speaking she was on NPR’s Wild Cards podcast.
“I think we’re having a reckoning as a society,” French said, on the release of Epstein files. “No girl should ever be put in this situation.”
“Whenever those details come up, it brings back memories of some very very painful times in my marriage,” she said.
